Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
Privacy Policy
Yak Runner is an endless running game set in Tibet, made by Tenzin Thinley, an independent developer ("I", "me"). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. It applies to Yak Runner on iPhone, iPad and Android.
In short
- You do not need an account, and I do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your scores, gems and settings are saved only on your own device.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect device information to show and measure those ads.
- I do not sell your information.
1. Information saved on your device
The game saves your progress on your device: best score, gems, coral keys, places unlocked, Journey stars, missions, daily reward streak, and settings such as language, sound and vibration. This information stays on your device and is not sent to me. Deleting the game, or choosing Reset progress in Settings, removes it.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Yak Runner is free and is supported by ads from Google AdMob: a banner on the home and results screens, a full-screen ad between some runs, and optional reward ads you choose to watch to continue a run or double your gems. To show and measure ads, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS when you allow tracking),
- IP address and approximate location derived from it,
- device type, operating system, language and app version,
- how you interact with ads (views, taps), and crash or diagnostic data related to ads.
Google uses this information under its own policies. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices: on iPhone and iPad, you can refuse app tracking (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking), and ads will not use your IDFA. On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads (Settings → Google → Ads). You may still see ads, but they will be less personalised.
3. Ratings, sharing, email and links
- Rate: the game may ask the App Store or Google Play to show its rating box. Your rating is handled by Apple or Google, not by me.
- Share: sharing a score or the game opens your device's share sheet. I do not see what you share or who you share it with.
- Email: if you email me, I receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply to you.
- Links: buttons like More apps open the App Store or Google Play. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
4. Information I do not collect
The game does not ask for or collect your name, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, precise location or payment details. It has no chat and no user accounts, and there are no in-app purchases.
5. Children
Yak Runner is a family-friendly game, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has sent me personal information by email, contact me and I will delete it.
6. Data sharing
I do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Information is shared only as described above: with Google, to show ads, and with Apple or Google, to run the app stores. I may disclose information if the law requires it.
7. Data retention and security
Game progress stays on your device until you delete the game or reset progress. Emails you send me are kept only as long as needed to help you. I rely on Apple, Google and your device to protect stored data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, the UK GDPR, the CCPA in California or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to certain uses. Because I do not hold game data on any server, most of these requests are handled on your device or with Google. For anything else, email me and I will help.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page. Big changes will also be noted in the app's update notes.

Terms of Use
By downloading or playing Yak Runner, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
1. The game
Yak Runner is provided for personal, non-commercial entertainment. I give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to install and play it on devices you own or control, under the rules of the App Store or Google Play you downloaded it from.
2. Gems, keys and progress
Gems, coral keys, stars and other items in the game have no real-world money value. They cannot be sold, exchanged or cashed out. Progress is saved only on your device, so it can be lost if you delete the game, reset progress, change devices or your device fails. I am not able to restore lost progress.
3. Ads
The game shows ads from third parties. I do not control the content of every ad and am not responsible for products or services advertised. Rewards from optional reward ads depend on an ad being available, and are given only when the ad is watched to the end.
4. Fair play
Please do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the game, cheat by tampering with the game or its saved data, or use the game in any way that breaks the law.
5. Content and culture
Yak Runner celebrates Tibetan places, language and culture. Place names, facts and Tibetan words are included in good faith for learning and enjoyment, and may contain mistakes. Corrections are always welcome by email.
6. Ownership
The game, including its code, art, music, sounds, characters and text, belongs to Tenzin Thinley or is used with permission. Names of real places are used only to describe them. App Store and Google Play are trademarks of Apple Inc. and Google LLC.
7. Health and safety
Take breaks, and play somewhere safe. Never play while walking in traffic, driving or doing anything that needs your full attention. A very small number of people may experience seizures from flashing lights or patterns. If you have epilepsy or feel unwell while playing, stop and see a doctor.
8. No warranty
The game is provided "as is" and "as available". I do not promise that it will always work, be free of errors, or be available on every device. I may update, change or stop the game at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of game progress, arising from your use of the game. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be excluded.
10. App store terms
If you downloaded the game from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple has no obligation to provide support for the game. Google Play's terms apply to downloads from Google Play.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.
12. Changes and contact
I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to play means you accept it. Questions: tibetandeveloper22@gmail.com
