Privacy Policy for Yak Match (གཡག་འདྲེས།)

1. Who this app is for
Yak Match is a Tibetan-language learning game designed for young children (ages 4 and up) and their families. This policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's guidelines for apps in the Kids Category.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not ask for, collect, or store any of the following, from children or anyone else:
- Name, email address, or physical address
- Photos, videos, or voice recordings from your device
- Precise location data
- Contact lists or social media information
- Any account registration is required — the app can be played without creating an account
3. Information stored on your device
To let your child pick up where they left off, Yak Match stores the following information locally on your device only, using standard local storage (not a cloud account):
- Game progress — stars earned, levels unlocked, best scores
- App settings — sound on/off, notification preferences, parental PIN if set
- Whether a subscription is active (checked via Apple/Google and RevenueCat, see below)
This information stays on the device and is not transmitted to us. If the app is deleted, this data is deleted with it.
4. Advertising
Yak Match shows ads through Google AdMob to support free access to the app. In line with Google's Families Policy Requirements for apps that may be accessed by children, ad requests made from this app are flagged for child-directed treatment, which limits the use of personalized advertising and restricts the types of ads that may be shown.
AdMob may use device identifiers (such as an advertising ID) to serve and measure ads. We do not control or have access to the data Google collects for this purpose. You can review Google's own privacy practices here: Google Privacy Policy .
5. Subscriptions and purchases
Yak Match offers an optional subscription to unlock additional content. Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your payment information (card numbers, billing address, etc.).
Subscription status is managed using RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives anonymized purchase and subscription data (such as which product was purchased and whether it is active) in order to verify your subscription across devices. It does not receive your name, email, or payment details. More information is available at RevenueCat's Privacy Policy .
Because Yak Match is intended for young children, we encourage a parent or guardian to be present for any purchase decisions. The app is designed so purchase prompts are directed at parents, not children.
6. Notifications
If you choose to enable reminder notifications in Settings, the app will schedule local reminders on your device. These notifications are generated on-device and are not sent through any external service, and no data is collected to enable them.
7. Third-party services summary
- Google AdMob — displays in-app advertising (child-directed treatment enabled)
- RevenueCat — manages and verifies subscription status
- Apple App Store / Google Play — processes all payments
We do not use Firebase, analytics SDKs, or any other third-party data collection services in this app.
8. Children's privacy (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because Yak Match does not require any account, does not collect personal information, and does not allow children to communicate with other users or with us through the app, there is no mechanism within the app for a child to submit personal information in the first place.
If a parent or guardian believes that personal information has somehow been collected from a child in connection with this app, please contact us using the details below and we will investigate and delete it promptly.
9. Parental controls
Yak Match includes an optional parental gate before purchase-related screens, and a Parent tab in the app where a parent or guardian can review settings and manage subscriptions. We recommend parents supervise use of the app and manage in-app purchases through their device's own parental control settings (such as Apple's Ask to Buy or Google Play's Family Link).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature or change a third-party service. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top.
